Legion

Legion names the invariant condition of the organized gathered whole: prior organisation across all orders carrying as one force without collapsing into uniformity.

Nesting names prior organisation remaining available within later organisation. Legion is what becomes possible when nesting has accumulated through all orders: the whole can carry as a gathered force rather than as a sequence traced step by step.

Legion is not uniformity. The gathered whole retains the distinctness of its orders while carrying as one force.

Legion is not size or complexity. An accumulated structure can be large without carrying as one gathered force.

Legion is the hidden invariant at higher order. It becomes clearest in absence: where an organisation appears gathered but cannot carry as one.

Places

Legion places the invariant condition of the organized gathered whole at higher order — before the distinction that higher-order organisation carries into.

Holds

Legion is held by Nesting. Prior organisation must be available within later organisation across all orders before the whole can carry as one gathered force.

Pairs

Nesting carries upward into Legion. Legion is an invariant carrier at higher order. No lateral pair has been placed yet.

Traces

Nests

Legion nests at higher order — where accumulated nested organisation becomes available as a gathered whole rather than a sequence of prior orders that must each be separately retraced.

Reads

Legion becomes recognisable where the accumulated organisation of prior orders carries as one force, not as parts requiring separate reconstruction.

Legion is also recognisable in absence: where the whole must be separately reconstructed each time it is needed rather than remaining available as a force.

The Atlas is a readable instance of Legion: an organized gathered whole carrying Reality Mechanics as one force, with terms remaining distinct inside one retraceable structure.
