03 Third Order/Path Reads/Restraint
Restraint
Restraint names controlled constraint: carrying intentionally held within a boundary, scope, or standard so it does not exceed what can bear, be checked, or be repaired. Restraint is not constraint in general; it is constraint taken up through participation and control.
Trace
Read
Restraint becomes readable where participation controls action, language, movement, or relation within a constraint so carrying remains compatible with what can be borne, checked, trusted, or repaired.
Structural Role
Restraint is a third-order path read. It reads the engineered or participated mode of constraint without making all constraint intentional. Organic order may constrain without restraint; restraint appears where constraint is controlled.
