02 Second Order/Presence Conditions/Coupled Asymmetry
Coupled Asymmetry
Coupled asymmetry names asymmetry held in coupling. Where resolved asymmetry names a single determined condition and coupling names two resolved conditions held in relation, coupled asymmetry names the specific condition through which asymmetry persists between coupled conditions — each remaining distinct and uneven while held together. Coupled asymmetry is not imbalance; it names the productive condition through which difference remains available within coupling.

Coupled asymmetry becomes recognisable where two coupled conditions can be read as uneven — where the coupling holds difference rather than resolving it into sameness.
