02 Second Order / Coupling

Coupling

Coupling names two or more resolved conditions held in relation to each other. Where resolved asymmetry names a single determined condition, coupling names the condition through which two determined conditions become mutually available — each remaining distinct while held in relation. Coupling does not collapse the coupled conditions into sameness; it makes their mutual availability readable. Coupling is the second-order precondition for presence, reality, and identity.

Read

Coupling becomes recognisable where two distinct resolved conditions can be read as held in relation to each other — where each remains what it is while being mutually available.

Structural Role

Coupling is a second-order support root, not the third-order root. It makes presence and compatibility possible by holding distinct resolved conditions in relation.
