02 Second Order/Coupling Conditions/Pair

Pair

Pair names a bounded read of coupling in which two distinguishable conditions are held together as a readable two. Pair is not an absolute two, not necessarily equality, and not a claim that the wider participation field contains only two conditions.

Trace

Read

Pair becomes recognisable where coupling can be read within a scope as two conditions held together while each remains distinguishable.

Structural Role

Pair is a second-order coupling condition. It reads coupling as a scoped two without making that read primitive, total, or exhaustive. A pair may be symmetric, asymmetric, reciprocal, dependent, temporary, nested, or applied.
