02 Second Order/Carrying Conditions/Compatibility

Compatibility

Compatibility names the condition through which what is being carried can continue through the conditions it moves into. Where carrying names the continuation of a resolved condition, compatibility names the check that the continuation remains supportable — that what is carried and what it moves through can hold together without one destroying the other. Compatibility does not guarantee resolution; it names the condition under which carrying can proceed.

Trace

Read

Compatibility becomes recognisable where carrying can be evaluated as supportable — where what is being carried and the conditions it moves through can be read as holding together at the current scope.

Passage Role

Compatibility is a passage condition: it does not make the next order emerge, but regulates whether carrying can continue through the conditions it encounters.
