Function names what a form makes available through compatible carrying. Where structure names form held as a carrying arrangement, function names the specific availability that arrangement produces — what can occur, be used, or participate through the structural arrangement. Function does not name purpose or intention; it names the available participation that a form makes possible through compatible carrying.
