02 Second Order/Presence Conditions/Produced Distinctions/Identity

Identity

Identity names sustained distinguishability. Where form names readable arrangement and recognition names a read becoming identifiable as this again, identity names the condition through which a formed distinction remains recognisable as itself across encounters — readable as the same condition held. Identity does not name essence or permanence; it names what holds as distinguishable across instances.

Trace

Read

Identity becomes recognisable where a formed distinction can be read as this across encounters — where what holds as arranged continues to be identifiable as the same condition rather than a new one.
