03 Third Order/Fields/Making/Hidden Carrying

Hidden Carrying

Hidden Carrying names the distortion in which invention appears to remove dependency while relocating dependency beyond ordinary readability. The invention seems to bypass the carrying relation, while actually extending carrying into less visible domains: extraction, infrastructure, energy, waste, labour, risk, governance, atmosphere, orbit, or future repair.

Trace

Read

Hidden Carrying becomes recognisable where a tool, system, or invention is described as clean, seamless, frictionless, endless, or dependency-free while the carrying relation has not disappeared, but moved.

Structural Test

A grounded invention should make its carrying relations more readable: what energy, material, land, labour, waste, repair, risk, governance, or future consequence carries it, and who carries the cost if it fails.
