Source Drift
Source Drift names the higher-order disorder where nested carrying is mistaken for source.
Source Drift does not occur because a structure is nested, elevated, abstract, engineered, or powerful. It occurs where the structure carrying participation is read as what ultimately bears that participation, so retrace stops at the carried structure rather than recovering what actually bears it.
Trace
- Hidden Bearing supplies carrying that blocks, obscures, or substitutes for retrace.
- Invisible Bearing supplies nested carrying that may remain healthy where retrace stays available.
- Bearing Source supplies the condition that actually bears the read.

Source Drift becomes recognisable where a model, language, institution, identity, governance structure, technology, or framework carries participation so strongly that it is treated as source rather than as nested carrying.
It is read where height, fluency, authority, recurrence, or system stability is mistaken for bearing source.
