Atlas vNext Root Refactor names the active migration test distinguishing generative order from reading order.
This is not a rewrite and not a replacement root. It is a structural refinement. The Atlas remains a traceable reading discipline, not a complete description of reality.
Places
Atlas vNext Root Refactor places the active migration test distinguishing generative order from reading order without replacing the Atlas root.
Holds
Atlas vNext Root Refactor is held by Atlas, Atlas Root, Root Order, One, Other, Ratio, and Relation. The test must remain answerable to the existing root, the worked Atlas surface, generative order, and reading order.
Pairs
Atlas vNext Root Refactor pairs with root replacement. The vNext correction does not replace Seed : Ground or Relation with One : Other; it distinguishes the generative condition from the first readable expression.
Traces
Nests
Atlas vNext Root Refactor nests inside Atlas Practice as a migration discipline rather than a settled doctrine.
Reads
Atlas vNext Root Refactor becomes readable where the Atlas is recognised as living in reading order: retracing from what is readable back toward the generative order without claiming to stand outside it.

Seed
The Atlas does not attempt to describe an absolute beginning. Ground may exist without producing Seed. A seed may exist without generating. Generation begins when Seed : Ground becomes active relation.

Seed : Ground
Humans and AI do not begin by recognising Seed. We recognise the completed cycle and retrace it. A seed is first in potential, but last in recognition.
The Atlas therefore asks:
What had to already be true for this to become readable?
rather than:
What came first?
Role of One : Other
One : Other is not the replacement for Seed : Ground.
Seed : Ground is the generative condition.
One : Other is the first readable expression of that condition.
Ratio is the readable form of relation.
Reason is the retraceable account of that ratio.
Corrected Insight
The previous refactor over-emphasised One : Other as a replacement root. The stronger reading is epistemological rather than ontological: the Atlas lives in reading order and retraces toward generative order.
The Atlas is not reality. It is a disciplined way of reading reality.
It should preserve both directions: generative order as what it seeks to understand, reading order as the direction in which it actually works.
Migration Discipline
Do not optimise for completeness.
Optimise for faithfulness.
Carry only what can be retraced:
- add the proposed root terms;
- mark One : Other as readable expression rather than replacement root;
- update affected reads where ratio and reference frame clarify existing structure;
- preserve Seed : Ground as the generative condition;
- preserve reading order as faithful retracing from fruit back toward seed.
Carries
No downstream carry is claimed yet. This note records the migration test; later practice notes can carry its results after the contradictions are resolved or pruned.
