Availability

Availability names the condition through which a located distinction can present. Where boundary names the locating act, availability names what that act makes possible — the condition under which distinction enters participation. Availability does not yet require trace, holding, recognition, or resolution; it names the condition under which distinction can enter them.

Availability becomes recognisable where a located distinction is present enough to participate in evaluation — where something can be noticed, followed, held, or read.

Passage Role

Availability is a passage condition as well as a first-order root condition: it names whether a located distinction can enter later carrying without yet naming the carrying itself.
