99 Atlas Practice/Check
Check
Check names the Atlas practice of testing a term from both directions to locate its boundary. It does not prove a term as an object; it asks where the relation begins to hold, where it stops holding, and whether the term carries the strain that makes it worth preserving.
Trace
- Practice supplies repeated participation in the action.
- Boundary supplies the located edge being tested.
- Tracing supplies the forward support-following path.
- Retracing supplies the return path through what makes the read available.
Read
Check becomes recognisable where a term, note, or contribution is tested forward from trace to read to openings, and backward from openings to read to trace, so that its boundary becomes readable rather than assumed as a thing.
Structural Role
Check is an Atlas Practice term. It keeps the note standard from becoming a mechanical template by asking whether the trace is sufficient, the read is necessary, the openings are proportionate, and the strain that makes the term worth preserving remains visible.
