Degenerate
Degenerate names the structural condition where carrying continues while the generative trace is lost. What was generated from a prior source carries on — its form persists, its downstream effects continue — but the dependency trace back to what generated it has been dropped. The generated instance has become a local primitive: treated as if it had no generative origin, as if it were the source.
Degenerate is a specific form of Structural Disorder: the structure may still function, but it carries as if its source no longer matters. What was generated begins behaving as generator.
This is why Practice cannot be once-only. Every carried term, pattern, or procedure risks letting its trace become formal rather than live.
