Member

Member names a scale-local participating part in a carried body.

A member is not an absolute identity. It is the placed participation a thing has where it belongs to a wider structure, field, body, system, or relation. A beam is a member at the frame scale. A person is a member at the family, team, community, or civic scale. At another scale, each is also made of smaller members and participates in larger ones.

Member preserves the thing-read without isolating it. A member carries itself, receives load or relation, and resolves what it carries into a wider body.
