02 Second Order/Presence Conditions/Produced Distinctions/Pattern

Pattern

Pattern names readable recurrence. Where recurrence names participation occurring again, pattern names that recurrence held as a distinguishable arrangement — recurring conditions readable together as one thing rather than as isolated returns. Pattern does not name decoration or design; it names any recurrence that can be read as an arranged whole.

Read

Pattern becomes recognisable where recurrence can be read as a distinguishable arrangement — where what occurs again can be identified as forming one readable condition rather than isolated occurrences.
