Resolution Rate

Resolution Rate names the rate at which a system can resolve meaningful distinction while maintaining retraceable order.

Resolution Rate is not simple speed. It is the speed at which relation can be read, resolved, and acted through without losing Coupling, Clearance, or trace. Speed measures movement. Resolution Rate measures resolved relation per available continuation.

A system may move quickly while resolving poorly. Another may move more slowly but resolve more meaningfully because more order is already nested and available.

The Atlas can use Resolution Rate on itself. A garden pass has improved resolution rate where new growth, shade, strain, or uncertainty becomes more placed, traceable, re-enterable, and available for correct continuation.

Places

Resolution Rate places the rate at which meaningful distinction can be resolved while maintaining retraceable order.

Holds

Resolution Rate is held by Rate, Resolution, Clearance, Coupling, Carrying, and Nesting Read. Rate must be readable, distinction must resolve, relation must retain clearance and coupling, carrying must continue, and prior order must remain retraceable within the current read.

This uses Nesting Read rather than third-order Nesting as the direct hold. Resolution Rate may appear where nested prior organisation is available, but a second-order rate note should not depend upward on third-order nesting as its prerequisite.

Resolution Rate pairs with Speed. Speed measures traversal per interval; Resolution Rate measures resolved relation per available continuation.

Nests

Resolution Rate nests where resolving distinction, carrying, coupling, and nested prior order remain available quickly enough to support meaningful continuation.

Reads

Resolution Rate becomes visible where different systems, practices, or the Atlas itself operate at different rates of meaningful update.

A fly can resolve nearby motion faster than a human reaction.

A skilled drummer can resolve rhythmic change faster than a beginner because the pattern has become nested through repetition.

A senior architect can resolve downstream consequences faster than a graduate because more dependency order is already carried.

AI can resolve linguistic pattern extremely quickly, but that does not mean it resolves lived reality at the same rate. In AI use, Resolution Rate must still be checked against AI Coupling and the traceability of what the fast linguistic read claims to carry.

In the garden read, Resolution Rate becomes visible where the Atlas converts growth into care without losing re-entry:

new or strained material

-> fewer false carries
-> named garden status
-> available next care action

More notes, faster edits, or fluent summaries do not by themselves indicate higher Resolution Rate. Higher Resolution Rate appears where the Atlas can absorb change and leave the next participant with a cleaner path back through what holds.

Guard

Resolution Rate is not how fast something moves. It is how fast meaningful distinction can be resolved without losing trace.

Fast output, fast motion, or fast reaction may indicate high speed without high Resolution Rate.

Slow proceeding may still carry a high Resolution Rate where more order is already nested, available, and retraceable at the moment of action.

Carries

Garden Pass can retrace Resolution Rate because a tending pass asks whether the pass increased the Atlas's ability to resolve meaningful distinction while preserving trace, re-entry, and available continuation.

Possible future candidates include operating cadence, prediction, drift risk, and AI coupling, but those should become carries only where downstream notes can retrace this dependency.
