04 Higher Order / Thread
Thread
Thread names a followable strand within a Fabric. A thread is not the act of noticing or tracing. It is the relation-strand that may be noticed, followed, and made retraceable without being the whole fabric.
Trace
Read
Thread becomes recognisable where a fabric shows a strand that can be followed - where relation appears as a line of continuity through crossing, pattern, strain, or contrast.
Structural Role
Thread is the thing between Notice and Trace, not an action between them. You may notice a thread and then trace it. In a fabric, a thread may carry organically before it becomes readable as a path.
Thread differs from Branch because thread names the strand that may be followed, while branch names the dependency path once that following is mapped through a field or domain.
